A remote on the web to control your presentationsOverviewSlide control is a tool for controlling your presentations from your phone, tablet, or computer.How to use Guide/Demo is available <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" class="break-all link-break text-gray-500 hover:underline text-green-500 rich-link" href="https://peerlist.io/prathamesh/articles/peerlist-hackathon-project-demo">here</a>.Tech StackThis uses websockets as a main communication channel between the web and the desktop application.<ul><li>Backend uses Node.js, TypeScript, and Docker for easier deployment.</li><li>The Web client is built with React using Vite, styled with TailwindCSS and Shadcn UI components.</li><li>The desktop client is powered by the ElectronJs framework.</li></ul>Thought processIn the RnD, I experemented controlling the computer using a chrome extension, but I failed at it due to sandbox restrictions. One drawback was that we cant access anything outside the browser. I got to know that I have to use a desktop app to have more freedom to do things and Electron was the obvious choice considering the timing and tech stack.So, In the current implementation, I send commands from the web app via websocket to the desktop app (routed via server). According to the command, the NodeJS mimics the behaviour of keyboard arrow keys. I use a fork of nut-js for this purpose as nutjs is no longer free. The authors have given permission for creating and distributing forks <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" class="break-all link-break text-gray-500 hover:underline text-green-500 rich-link" href="https://nutjs.dev/blog/i-give-up">read more</a>.Issues / limitations in current implementation<ul><li>Socket routing causing little bit of latency</li><li>Sessions are stored in-memory at server which is not a good idea if this scales or users have longer sessions. Need to shift to something like Redis.</li><li>The window needs to be an active window.</li></ul>⚠️ Current versions of desktop apps is not code signed and hence might create some issue while installing them on your computers. (I will create a detailed guide on how to deal with this)Future scope of this project<ul><li>Add support for local networks such as Bluetooth or Wifi</li><li>Controll with gestures and volume buttons of mobile</li><li>Switch to Redis for storing sessions</li><li>Explore more sophisticated technologies such as webRTC to reduce the latency</li></ul>I see this project going in the direction of solving multiple small use cases, such as media control, presentation control, etc. I will see how this goes and accordingly make it better. The most significant quadrant of the matrix is one of not-urgent and Important, it has all the things which really matter most in long-term.<hr>App's primary focus is on the quadrant of not-urgent and important tasks, as this is where most of us struggle to allocate our time. By highlighting these tasks and providing insights into how we spend our time, Ankur empowers us to make more informed decisions about their daily activities and achieve their long-term goals.Overall, Ankur app aims to help users become more self-aware, productive, and fulfilled by providing a simple and rewarding approach to managing our most valuable resources - time &amp; energy⚡ .<hr><h3 class="rich-heading">My Motivation </h3>As a ADHD victim, I find it hard to be self aware despite of having todo-lists, writing journal and doing all sorts of stuff. Most of the time I'm not conscious about the things I'm doing. I unknowingly spent more time in small things which doesn't matter much.So, I took Ankur warikoo's course where he gave a nice framework to look at the time. But still I was finding it hard (and still now) to complete the exercises. Reducing this stressful problem became our goal for this Hackathon.<h3 class="rich-heading">What it does</h3>Mission Vision is a Chrome Extension which reminds you to take a break from your busy and tedious schedule. This popup on your browser reminds you to look away every 20 minutes at an object that is about 20 feet away for a full 20 seconds. Mission Vision also makes you aware about lots of facts about your eyes.This Project is a part of Hack The Leauge Hackathon in the theme of HealthCare.

Noted is a project that consists of a Chrome extension and a web dashboard. Its purpose is to make note-taking on YouTube more efficient by allowing users to take notes while watching videos without switching tabs. Users can categorize video notes into categories and update notes using the web dashboard.<h2 class="rich-heading">How it works</h2>Noted works by recording timestamps while the user is watching a YouTube video. The Chrome extension allows users to easily bookmark a timestamp and write notes and important points without switching tabs. The notes are stored in a database and can be accessed and updated through the web dashboard.Once the user logs in, the dashboard displays all the videos they have made notes for using Noted.
